BUT, there was actually one major change this week: last Monday, I had my first class as a college student. As you may know, I have to take an English class to get my "Kindergeld" (funny enough, every staff member at this college knows what that is, just because there's so many German students around). When we came into class, I already knew two other girls. We're all AuPairs in this class, only one is a boy and only two are not German (lucky for them: they both are Spanish). I am going to attend this class for the next ten weeks and I'm pretty sure we're gonna have loads of fun. By the way, we have class every Monday, Thursday and Friday for two hours while our kids are in school.
Wie ihr wahrscheinlich an den nicht mehr ganz so regelmäßigen Post bemerkt habt, habe ich mich mittlerweile vollkommen eingelebt und ich erlebe nicht mehr jeden Tag spannende neue Sachen, die ich euch hier erzählen könnte.
Eine Sache hat sich allerdings diese Woche geändert. Ich verbringe ab jetzt drei Morgende pro Woche an der Uni. Wie ein paar von euch wahrscheinlich schon wissen, muss ich, um mein Kindergeld (lustigerweise, weiß jeder Angestellte hier, was das genau ist, weil es so viele deutsche Schüler gibt) zu bekommen, einen Englisch Kurs besuchen.
Wir sind bis jetzt acht Leute - alles AuPairs, ein Junge und nur zwei nicht Deutsche, aber beides Spanierinnen.
Diesen Kurs werde ich jetzt die nächsten zehn Wochen besuchen und ich bin mir jetzt schon sicher, dass wir alle viel Spaß zusammen haben werden.
The first couple pictures that I wanna show you were taken last Saturday. Sade and I went to Richmond for that afternoon. Richmond is the borough right next to Kingston and it took us about 15 minuets by bus. Even though the weather wasn't very good, it was beautiful. Richmond has a really lovely riverside and we also found a small market, and in the park square a couple of men were playing cricket.
Die ersten Bilder, die ich euch zeigen möchte, entstanden letzten Samstag. Ich war mit Sade in Richmond, welches auch ein Teil von London ist, allerdings direkt neben Kingston und wir brauchten nur 15 Minuten mit dem Bus zu fahren. Obwohl das Wetter nicht wirklich gut war, war es wirklich sehr schön. Wir haben einen Markt gefunden, auf dem Parkteil haben Männer Cricket gespielt und auch das Flussufer ist sehr schön gestaltet, mit vielen kleinen Cafes direkt am Wasser.
These pictures were taken last Sunday in Nottinghill. Katharina and I just walked around a bit and discovered the Portobello Market (which is basically shop after shop with almost the same things to sell), but also looked at a lot of beautiful and colourful houses.
Die nächsten Bilder habe ich am Sonntag geschossen. Mit Katharina habe ich mich in Nottinghill getroffen. Wir sind ein wenig ziellos los gelaufen und fanden zuerst den Portobello Markt. An sich nicht so wirklich besonders, da es einfach nur Geschäft an Geschäft ist, in welchen es fast immer das selbe zu kaufen gibt. Aber natürlich haben wir uns auch noch die ganzen schönen und bunten Häuser angeschaut, welche doch sehr beeindruckend sind.
