Kingston upon Thames

Hi guys!

Last post I promised y'all a post about my neighbor hood and the outside of our house. So here we go!
But before I let you roam through my pictures, let me first tell you a bit about where I live. I live in a Borough of London called Kingston upon Thames. It is very international and a university city. The area we live in is very quiet but if you take the bus into the city (about five minutes) it'll of a sudden becomes very lively. There's loads of pubs, restaurants, shops and the most beautiful thing: the river Thames runs through it!

Letztes Mal habe ich euch einen Post über meine Nachbarschaft und unser Haus von außen versprochen und hier kommt er! 
Aber bevor ihr durch die Bilder stöbern könnt, möchte ich euch ein bisschen erzählen. Der Ort in dem ich wohne heißt Kingston upon Thames und ist ein Stadtteil von London. Es ist sehr international und gleichzeitig auch eine Studentenstadt. Die Gegend, in der wir wohnen, ist sehr ruhig, doch wenn man den Bus in die Stadt nimmt (ca. 5 Minuten), ist man auf einmal mitten im Leben. Es gibt viele Pubs, Restaurants, große und kleine Shops; und das Schönste: die Themse fließt durch Kingston.

Und hier seht ihr unsere Eingangstür, von wo aus das letzte Bild aufgenommen wurde. 

This is what you get to see when you turn into the street we live in. Our house is quite far in the back and you can't see it in this picture. It is on the left side though, almost opposite from the last red car.

Das hier ist unsere Straße, wenn man abbiegt. Von hier kann man unser Haus zwar noch nicht sehen, es ist allerdings ungefähr auf der Höhe von dem hinteren roten Auto. 

I hope you can actually see what kind of animals these are but if not: it's deer! It's crazy how close they are when you go into the park. Usually they just mind their own business but at them moment their is a lot of young deer, so we have to keep the dogs on a leash, especially since Mimi loves to run after them.

Ich hoffe ihr könnt erkennen, was das für Tiere sind. Falls nicht: es sind Rehe! Teilweise stehen sie sogar noch näher vor einem. Meistens interessieren sie sich nicht für Menschen oder Hunde, aber da es gerade auch viele junge Rehe gibt, lassen wir die Hunde an der Leine, da vor allem Mimi ihnen gerne hinter her rennt. 

This is the bus stop where I usually take the bus to Kingston. One thing I love about London is their good public transport. There is usually a bus every 6 to ten minutes and even during the night there's a bus at least every thirty minuets. And since there is usually loads of people using these buses, no matter what time, you always feel safe, even if you're by yourself. 

Das hier ist die Bushaltestelle, an welcher ich normalerweise in den Bus nach Kingston einsteige. Das schöne an London ist, dass immer ein Bus fährt. Tagsüber eigentlich alle 6 bis 10 Minuten und selbst nachts fährt mindestens alle 30 Minuten ein Bus. Und da man eigentlich nie alleine in so einem Bus ist, fühlt man sich auch eigentlich immer sicher, selbst wenn man nachts mal ohne Freunde heim muss, weil die in eine andere Richtung müssen.

The next three pictures I took during my first Saturday exploring Kingston with my friends Sade. She's an Austrian AuPair living quite close to me. 

Die nächsten drei Bilder habe ich an meinem ersten Samstag in Kingston aufgenommen, als Sade, ein österreichisches AuPair, und ich zum ersten Mal unseres Stadtteil erkundet haben. 

This picture represents the British weather perfectly. You can still see the blue sky and the sun is still shining but as you can guess from the dark clouds in the back, it took only five more minutes till it started raining terribly. 

Dieses Bild repräsentiert das englische Wetter perfekt. Man kann den blauen Himmel und Sonnenschein noch sehen, doch wie ihr euch wahrscheinlich an den dunklen Wolken denken könnt, dauerte es keine fünf Minuten, bis es aus Eimern strömte. 

It's a bit sad, y'all can't actually see how steep these streets are. It is impossible to ride your bike up here and I always have to push mine up - which is also quite exhausting by itself!

Leider bekommt ihr auf den zwei Bildern keinen richtigen Eindruck davon, wie steil, die Straßen hier sind. Die Strecke von den Bildern muss ich jedes Mal absteigen und darf mein Fahrrad hoch schieben, was aber auch schon relativ anstrengend ist! 

And this is the bike I ride to pick up the pots from school or bring them lunch during their break. Luckily, I only have to ride there once or twice a week. It usually takes me about 20 minutes to get their and there is way too many steep roads on the way there as I have to go through Richmond Park as well. 

Und das hier ist das Fahrrad, das ich benutze, wenn ich die Jungs von der Schule abhole oder ihnen zur Mittagspause essen bringe. Zum Glück mache ich das nur ein- bis zweimal die Woche. Normalerweise brauche ich immer so 20 Minuten, allerdings ist es durch die vielen Hügel und der Weg durch den Park sehr anstrengend.
